About Rajasthan Police -
With the advent of independence in August 1947, the 563 princely States of India were gradually integrated into different administrative homogeneous units. The State of Rajasthan, in its present form came into being in different stages. The Matsya union comprising Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur and Karauli were the first to be ushered in on March 18, 1948. They were joined a week later by Banswara, Bundi, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kishangarh, Kushalgarh, Kota, Pratapgarh, Shahpura, Tonk and Udaipur. Exactly a year later, the four larger States viz. Jaipur,Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaisalmer also joined in. Together they formed the Greater Rajasthan, which was inaugurated by Home Minister of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on 31st March, 1949.
The erstwhile princely States constituting Rajasthan varied considerably in size, population, revenue resources, administrative procedures and practices. This was duly reflected in the composition and capability of security forces they had maintained for law and order functions.
Shri Banerji held this post for seven months and devoted most of that period to the necessary preliminaries of integration of the various police forces. He chalked out a common police code for the United State of Rajasthan in the Rajasthan Police Regulations.

Penalty for Wrong Answers :
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that

The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equipercentile method.

Cutoff Score : 
Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number ofvacancies

The Candidates who will apply for RPSC RAS 2013 Exam must have to study according to the New Pattern syllabus for better performance in the exam and get Good Score. Scheme of examination of RAS with New Pattern Syllabus 2013 is mention below.
1. Scheme of examination :
 The Combined Competitive Examination will be held in two successive stages-
I. Preliminary Examination, and 
II. Main Examination 


I. Preliminary examination : The Preliminary Examination will consist of one paper on the subject specified below, which will be of objective type and carry a maximum of 200 marks. The examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The Standard of the paper will be that of a Bachelor?s Degree Level. The marks obtained in the PreliminaryExamination by the candidates. who are declared qualified for admission to Main Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

Note : Patter of Questions Paper (For Preliminaryexamination) -
A. There will be 150 Questions in the Question Paper.
B. All questions will carry equal marks.
C. There will be Negative Marking – 1/3 part of mark(s) of each question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

II. Main examination :
A. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be 15 times the total approximate number of vacancies (category wise) to be filled in the year in the various Services and posts but in the said range all those candidates who secure the same percentage of marks as may be fixed by the Commission for any lower will be admitted to the Main Examination.

B. The written examination will consist of the following four papers which will be descriptive/analytical. A candidate must take all the papers listed below which will also consist ofquestion paper of brief, medium long answer and descriptive type questions. The standard of General Hindi and General English will be that of Sr. Secondary level. The time allowed for each paper shall be 3 hours.

2. Personality and viva-voce Examination : Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the written test of the Main Examination as may be fixed by the Commission in their discretion shall be summoned by them for an interview for a personality test which carries 100 marks.


3. General Instructions of RAS Exam 2013 : 
A. All papers shall be answered either in Hindi or in English, but no candidate shall be permitted to answer any one paper partly in Hindi and partly in English unless specifically allowed to do so.
B. If a candidate?s handwriting is not easily legible, a deduction will be made on this account from the total marks otherwise accruing to him.
C. Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in all subjects of examination.
